The home of Real Madrid defender Éder Militão was burgled during the El Clásico match against Barcelona, despite members of his family being inside the house at the time of the break-in.
According to a report by El Mundo, cited by Reuters, the incident occurred during last Sunday’s match while the Brazilian player was on the bench for the Los Blancos.
The stolen items were valued at approximately €350,000, including luxury watches, handbags, and jewelry, after the burglars reached the player’s bedroom and ransacked it.
Reports indicate that the burglars entered through an upstairs bathroom window while family members were watching El Clásico on television downstairs, unaware of any suspicious activity.
Among the stolen items were a Rolex watch valued at around €53,000 and a Richard Mille watch worth nearly €170,000, alongside three Chanel handbags, Cartier rings and bracelets, and other valuables.
The family only discovered the burglary after police and security officers arrived at the house, finding the player’s room turned upside down with all precious belongings missing.
The incident took place on the night Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-1, adding to a series of burglaries targeting footballers’ homes in Spain, including the 2022 raid on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s residence, during which he suffered a broken jaw.
