Egyptian media has revealed that Al Ahly star Ahmed Nabil Kouka has received a significant offer from Rio Ave in Portugal.
Kouka has established himself as a key player under Marcel Koller last season, joining the senior national team before the recent Africa Cup of Nations, and playing a major role in the Olympic team’s fourth-place finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
According to reports, Rio Ave is ready to pay $1.2 million for the services of the 23-year-old.
The player himself is very keen to experience this new challenge, especially as Rio Ave is a well-known club in Portugal and could be his gateway to a bigger move in Europe.
Al Ahly’s management has presented the matter to coach Marcel Koller to decide whether to accept or reject it, and to explore whether Kouka’s departure will be a crisis or affect the team’s plans for the new season.
According to the website “FilGoal,” if Koller agrees, Al Ahly’s management will negotiate with Rio Ave to increase the financial compensation, considering the current offer to be “weak.”
It’s worth noting that Kouka has participated with Al Ahly in 58 matches across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing 3 assists, and has won 9 various titles, including 2 African Champions Leagues, 2 Egyptian Leagues, 2 Egyptian Super Cups, and 3 Egypt Cups.
