Marc Kosicke, the agent of Jürgen Klopp, has firmly shut down rumors linking his client with the Real Madrid managerial position next season, directly responding to the campaign promises made by presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme.
The Real Madrid presidential hopeful had previously stated that club legend Raúl González would immediately open negotiations to lure Klopp to the Santiago Bernabéu if Riquelme wins the election, expressing absolute confidence in convincing the German tactician.
However, it appears that regardless of any negotiations, Klopp has no plans to return to the dugout anytime soon. Kosicke clarified the situation in an exclusive statement to football insider Fabrizio Romano.
Klopp’s Agent Hits Out at Riquelme Claims: “It is Really Annoying”
“It is really annoying,” Kosicke stated regarding Riquelme’s claims. “Klopp has no intention of returning to club management, and he is extremely happy in his current role with Red Bull [as Head of Global Soccer].”
Riquelme’s ambitious campaign has also faced backlash on other fronts. His promises to sign Erling Haaland and Rodri prompted an official statement from Manchester City, condemning the candidate’s remarks and threatening legal action, given that both superstars are under active contracts at the Etihad Stadium.
Florentino Perez Responds with Jose Mourinho and Blockbuster Signings
Meanwhile, incumbent president Florentino Pérez has taken a different approach ahead of Sunday’s crucial election. Pérez announced that José Mourinho will take over as manager immediately upon his victory.
Furthermore, Pérez claimed to have secured deals for defensive duo Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konaté, while also promising a massive €150 million bid for an unnamed global superstar.
