Paris Saint-Germain won the Men’s Club of the Year award, while Barcelona claimed the women’s honour at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, recognising a season of domestic and European success for both clubs.
The awards were announced at the London Palladium, with the French club retaining its crown and Barcelona returning to the winners’ stage after missing out last year.
PSG’s triumph followed a five-trophy haul under Luis Enrique: the Champions League, FIFA Intercontinental Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Ligue 1 and French Super Cup. They prevailed over fellow nominees Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Flamengo and Bodø/Glimt.
Retaining the Champions League was the highlight of PSG’s campaign. They defeated Arsenal 4-3 on penalties in the Budapest final after a 1-1 draw following extra time, securing the European title for the second consecutive season.
Barcelona Women earned their award after completing a quadruple under Pere Romeu, winning the Champions League, Liga F, Copa de la Reina and Spanish Super Cup. They overcame competition from Bayern Munich, Manchester City, OL Lyonnes and Club América.
The Catalan side reclaimed the European crown with an emphatic 4-0 victory over OL Lyonnes in the Oslo final, courtesy of two goals each from Ewa Pajor and Salma Paralluelo. Their fourth European title followed the disappointment of losing the 2025 final 1-0 to Arsenal.
PSG consequently claimed the men’s award for the second successive year after their 2025 triumph, while Barcelona secured the women’s prize for the third time, following victories in 2023 and 2024, reclaiming it from last year’s winners Arsenal.
