Real Madrid have reached a preliminary verbal agreement with Jude Bellingham over a new long-term contract, securing one of the core pillars of their project, with only formal procedures and signing remaining before the official announcement.
José Félix Díaz, editor of AS, revealed that discussions began during the final stretch of last season and produced complete alignment. The completion of the Englishman’s file comes as part of a wave of renewals following an agreement with Arda Güler and ongoing moves to secure Thibaut Courtois’s continuity.
The new deal runs for five seasons until June 30, 2031, extending his current agreement—which was set to expire in the summer of 2029—by two additional years and ensuring his stay at the Santiago Bernabéu until he turns 28.
The England international will receive a pay rise reflecting his growing influence within the squad, though the report did not disclose the final salary figure. Current estimates put his wage at around €400,000 per week, totaling approximately €20.8 million gross per season.
Previous reports suggested his new weekly wage could exceed £400,000, while Mundo Deportivo noted that Real Madrid’s plan involves elevating him to the top pay bracket alongside Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Junior—estimated at around €600,000 per week—though this figure was not confirmed in the latest agreement.
Bellingham joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023 for a fixed fee of €103 million, plus add-ons that could reach up to 30% of the initial transfer value, raising the potential total cost to around €134 million.
The 23-year-old recently reached his 150th appearance in a Real Madrid shirt, securing 100 wins and scoring 49 goals—spread across 95 matches in La Liga, 35 in the Champions League, and 20 in other competitions. He has also registered three goals and two assists in his first ten games this season.
His debut season remains his finest individual campaign, after he netted 23 goals and provided 13 assists, guiding the club to a La Liga and Champions League double. His total trophy haul with Real Madrid currently stands at five, including the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Supercopa de España, alongside winning the Golden Boy and Kopa Trophy, as well as finishing third in the Ballon d’Or.
Bellingham subsequently battled shoulder issues, delaying surgery to support the team, before regaining his attacking freedom behind Mbappé under José Mourinho this season—reinforcing Real Madrid’s conviction in his ability to spearhead their new era following the departures of established stalwarts such as Toni Kroos, Luka Modrić, and Dani Carvajal.
