The Egyptian star assisted Paul Onuachu for the opening goal inside three minutes, before scoring the second himself in the 44th minute with a clinical strike, capping off a memorable night in which he captained the Turkish side for the first time.

According to Opta, Salah has now both scored and assisted in 13 different matches in major European competitions since the 2017–2018 season—putting him four full games ahead of his closest pursuers during this period.

The 13 matches came against Maribor in 2017; Manchester City and Roma in 2018; Porto and Genk in 2019; Atalanta in 2020; Ajax in 2022; Real Madrid in 2023; Sparta Prague and Bologna in 2024; Atlético Madrid in 2025; and Galatasaray and KuPS in 2026.

In doing so, Salah made history across all three major European club competitions, having achieved the feat in the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, becoming only the third player to score and assist in all three tournaments alongside Cody Gakpo and Mario Götze.

The 34-year-old raised his total to eight goals and four assists in his first ten appearances for Trabzonspor, while also reaching his 65th goal in European club competitions—drawing level with Erling Haaland for 12th place on the all-time European goalscoring charts.

Salah’s most notable performance in this European run came against Roma in the first leg of the 2018 Champions League semi-finals, when he scored twice and set up two more in Liverpool’s 5-2 victory, while his Europa League benchmark came during a 6-1 win over Sparta Prague.

Salah’s influence is not limited to European club competitions, as he also became the first player to score and assist in 37 different Premier League matches, surpassing Wayne Rooney’s record, before embarking on his Turkish chapter to prove that his departure from Liverpool has done nothing to dim his impact among Europe’s premier forwards.
