Mohammed Elsayed has successfully clinched the first medal for Egypt at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the sport of fencing.
Since the beginning of his participation in the fencing competition on Sunday, Elsayed has been celebrating his victories in the style of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sayed reached the semi-finals before losing to Frenchman Yannick Borel, which led him to compete in the bronze medal match against Hungarian Tibor Andrasfi.
Mohammed Elsayed managed to win by a golden point after the original time ended with a 7-7 draw between the two players, thus securing the bronze medal.
Following the announcement of his victory, the Egyptian ran around the arena celebrating his medal, and then celebrated again in the style of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Elsayed’s bronze medal is the second Arab medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, after Tunisian Farès Ferjani won silver in fencing on Saturday.
