Cristiano Ronaldo continued his historic journey toward the 1,000-goal milestone by finding the back of the net in Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Uzbek side Neftchi Fergana on matchday two of the AFC Champions League Elite.
The victory restored balance to Al-Nassr’s continental campaign following their heavy 4-0 opening-round defeat to Al Ain, handing the Saudi giants their first three points of the league phase.
Angelo Gabriel opened the scoring in the 33rd minute before Ronaldo doubled the advantage in the 42nd minute. Alisher Odilov pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 51st minute, while an own goal by Anvar Gofurov in the 78th minute sealed the contest.
The win lifted Al-Nassr provisionally to eighth place in the West Region standings with 3 points, trailing seventh-placed Neftchi on goal difference, with the round’s fixtures yet to be completed.
With his latest strike, Ronaldo brought his tally for Al-Nassr across all competitions this season to five goals, while reaching 16 goals in AFC club competitions: 6 in the 2023–2024 edition, 8 in 2024–2025, one in the AFC Champions League Two, and one in the current Elite campaign.
On a career level, the Portugal captain reached his 981st official goal just three days after netting his 980th against Al-Diriyah, leaving him 19 goals shy of the historic landmark he chases before concluding his illustrious career.
