In the 50th minute, Vinicius Junior unleashed another rocket of a shot from outside the penalty area to score Real Madrid’s second goal. He then looked towards the stands and apologized to the fans in a truly admirable gesture for the 25-year-old.

Moments before the final whistle, Toni Martinez scored a consolation goal for Alavés, but it wasn’t enough to snatch even a point from a wounded Real Madrid.
With this victory, Real Madrid temporarily reduces the gap with Barcelona to six points, pending the Catalan club’s match against Celta Vigo at the Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday.
