The draw for the Copa del Rey Round of 16 has pitted giants Real Madrid and Barcelona against each other in relatively straightforward matches, as well as Atlético Madrid.
The three clubs are currently in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with Athletic Bilbao, preparing for the 2026 Spanish Super Cup.
The draw for the Round of 16 took place on Wednesday evening. Reigning champions Barcelona will face Racing Santander, while Real Madrid, the third most successful club in the competition’s history, will play Albacete. Both matches will be played away from the home grounds of the Spanish powerhouses.
Atlético Madrid will play Deportivo La Coruña, while Athletic Bilbao will face Cultural Leonesa.
Three matches will feature two La Liga teams: Real Betis vs. Elche, Alavés vs. Rayo Vallecano, and Valencia vs. Burgos.
The Round of 16 matches of the 2026 Copa del Rey are scheduled to take place between January 13th and 15th.
