The Brazilian Olympic Committee has announced the exclusion of swimmer Ana Vieira from the Paris 2024 Olympics due to an unauthorized visit to the Eiffel Tower.
Vieira, along with her fellow swimmer Gabriel Santos, left the Olympic Village and took a trip to the Eiffel Tower, which was discovered after they posted photos there on social media.
When confronted about the matter, Santos accepted the warning and apologized, but Vieira reacted violently, leading to a decision to send her back to Brazil and exclude her from the Olympic competition.
Gustavo Ortsuka, president of the Brazilian Swimming Federation, said that the Brazilian delegation in France is there for a national mission and not for sightseeing or vacation.
It should be noted that both Santos and Vieira are among the elite Brazilian swimmers, and there were high hopes for them to win a medal for their country.
