Brazil national team manager Carlo Ancelotti has sent a powerful message of support to Florentino Perez ahead of the upcoming Real Madrid presidential elections scheduled for this Sunday.
The duo shares an exceptionally close bond. Ancelotti largely credits Perez for reviving his elite managerial career when the Real Madrid president made the bold decision to bring him back for a second stint at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2021, following a noticeable dip in the Italian’s career momentum.
Never forgetting Perez’s faith in him, and despite being fully immersed in preparing Brazil for the 2026 World Cup, Ancelotti decided to publicly endorse Perez in his presidential race against challenger Enrique Riquelme.
Ancelotti posted a picture on his official Instagram account alongside Perez at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the numerous trophies they won together showcased in the background. He captioned the post: “There is still so much history left to be made.. Hala Madrid.”
Real Madrid and Ancelotti parted ways last year by mutual consent, after which the Italian tactician took over the reins of the Brazil national team, marking his first-ever experience in international management.
Statistically, Ancelotti stands as the second most successful manager in Real Madrid’s history, with his legendary achievement of winning three UEFA Champions League titles with Los Blancos forever etched in football history.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid is reportedly on the verge of re-appointing Jose Mourinho in an attempt to replicate Ancelotti’s highly successful return strategy. The official announcement of the “Special One’s” return is expected immediately after Perez secures his victory in the elections.
