Manchester City’s management is now open to selling Omar Marmoush next summer after the Egyptian star failed to deliver consistent performances throughout this season, consequently falling out of favor with his coach, Pep Guardiola.
Marmoush joined City in the winter of 2015 for approximately €80 million after his impressive performances with Eintracht Frankfurt. However, he faced numerous difficulties in his first few months with the English club and has not managed to replicate his success in Germany this season.
According to recent reports, City’s management will not stand in the way of Marmoush’s departure in the upcoming transfer window if they receive a financially attractive offer. The “Egyptian Prince” himself is also considering leaving the Etihad Stadium in search of regular playing time.
It is said that City’s management is prepared to listen to offers for the 26-year-old if they reach at least €50 million.
Barcelona, in particular, is undoubtedly following these developments closely, as Marmoush’s name has been linked to a move to the Blaugrana on several occasions in recent months due to his ability to play as a winger and striker, a role that suits coach Hansi Flick’s tactical approach.
Marmoush received a number of offers from English clubs last winter, most notably from Aston Villa, but he insisted on staying with City. However, things are expected to change this summer, with significant offers anticipated from the Premier League and even the Bundesliga.
It’s worth noting that Marmoush has made 16 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists.
