Mohamed Salah’s potential transfer to Beşiktaş has turned into an open negotiation after a significant financial gap emerged between the Turkish club’s budget and the commercial demands set by the player’s camp.
Beşiktaş have tabled a two-year contract proposal offering the Egyptian captain a base salary of €15 million per year, with performance-based incentives that could push his total earnings toward €20 million per season.
The club’s management considers a total outlay exceeding €40 million over two years to be their absolute financial ceiling—especially given that Salah is available on a free transfer following the conclusion of his contract with Liverpool.
However, according to Turkish journalist Ogün Şahinoğlu, Salah’s representative, Ramy Abbas, requested additional provisions tied to image rights and shirt sale royalties. These demands have driven the overall package beyond what Beşiktaş are currently willing to accept.
Turkish media outlets also highlighted an earlier hurdle concerning the agent’s commission fee, which initial reports placed as high as 35% of the total contract value, before Abbas reportedly lowered his demands to keep negotiations alive.
Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı confirmed that the board has reviewed the requested modifications and submitted a final, non-negotiable offer to the player’s representatives, demanding a swift response to avoid delaying the club’s wider transfer strategy.
Beşiktaş have effectively given Salah a 24-hour deadline to make his final decision. A final round of talks with his agent is expected as both parties seek a middle ground that protects Salah’s commercial interests without breaching the club’s strict wage structure.
