Bruno Fernandes has set two key conditions for renewing his contract with Manchester United, which currently runs until the summer of 2028.
The Portuguese star is attracting significant interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, and it has been reported that he has been unhappy with the Manchester United management in recent months, leading to speculation that he might leave next summer.
The Mirror newspaper reported that Manchester United’s recent improved results could lead to the player staying with the Red Devils, but the English club’s management must first meet two conditions.
The 31-year-old’s first condition is keeping Michael Carrick in his position. He believes a new manager is necessary after the Englishman’s impressive performances at Old Trafford.
The second condition is not practically up to the management, but rather the players. Bruno wants to return to playing in the Champions League, and for this to happen, United must secure a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Manchester United currently sits in third place in the Premier League with 51 points, tied with fourth-placed Aston Villa.
United’s management is determined to keep Bruno and is prepared to offer him a substantial financial package worth £400,000, in recognition of his significant contributions to the club over the past five years.
