The Sun newspaper revealed that Manchester United star Casemiro has rejected a move to the MLS or the Saudi League next season, determined to remain in Europe’s top five leagues.
United announced weeks ago that this season would be the 33-year-old’s last at Old Trafford by mutual agreement.
Since then, Casemiro has been linked with several clubs outside Europe, including Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, and it was even reported that Lionel Messi himself asked Inter Miami to sign the Real Madrid legend.
However, the latest report from the renowned English newspaper confirms that Casemiro believes he still has something to offer and that his physical condition allows him to continue playing in Europe, just as Real Madrid legend Luka Modric did.
While Casemiro is getting older, he is proving with Manchester United that he is still capable of performing at the highest level. For this reason, he will fight to stay in Europe and will postpone leaving the continent for at least another year.
The clubs interested in signing Casemiro have not yet been revealed, although it is expected that Serie A clubs, in particular, are the most keen on acquiring him, as they prefer this type of free transfer for experienced players.
Casemiro has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists.
