Good news for Zamalek: Dunga’s injury is not serious

Zamalek’s medical staff reassured the club’s fans about Nabil Emad Dunga’s injury after the player underwent comprehensive examinations which revealed it was not serious.

Dunga left Zamalek’s match against Zesco United on Sunday with what appeared to be a severe knee injury and went directly to a hospital for the necessary tests.

The prevailing concern among Zamalek fans was that Dunga had suffered a torn knee ligament, which would sideline him for approximately a year.

However, Dunga’s injury is limited to a sprain of the medial collateral ligament, and he will need a maximum of one month to recover and return to play for the White Knights.

It is now certain that Dunga will not travel with the Zamalek squad to South Africa for their Confederation Cup group stage match against Kaizer Chiefs.

After the Kaizer Chiefs match, Zamalek will enter a long break of more than six weeks due to the participation of the Egyptian national team’s second squad in the Arab Cup and the senior national team in the Africa Cup of Nations.
