Egyptian media reported that Zamalek coach Yannick Ferreira has decided to exclude one of the White Castle’s stars from the Al Ahly match scheduled for Monday evening.
According to reports, the Belgian coach excluded Angolan winger Chico Banza from Zamalek’s squad for the match against Al Ahly, a somewhat controversial decision.
Banza had just returned to Zamalek’s squad for the previous match after being suspended for two matches for arriving late to Cairo following the international break. He was expected to at least be on the bench for the match.
However, given Banza’s poor performance in the few minutes against El Gouna, Ferreira decided to exclude the player from the derby. Adam Kayed is the first candidate to fill the left wing position, with Ahmed Sherif as his replacement.
Banza joined Zamalek last summer from Portuguese club Estrela Amadora for €800,000.
The Angolan has played five matches for Zamalek since then, scoring two goals against Modern Sport and Pharco.
