Real Madrid’s squad for the La Liga match against Celta Vigo was devoid of Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes, raising questions about the reason for this sudden absence.
According to DAZN, the Brazilian international’s absence from the Celta match was not due to a technical issue, but rather due to a flu-like illness that prevented him from participating in the club’s final training session on Saturday.
Rodrygo has been subjected to much criticism recently due to his poor form, and it has been suggested that Real Madrid may be interested in selling him during the next summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old has made 50 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 10 assists.
Rodrygo joins a list of Real Madrid’s major absentees, including Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga, Éder Militao, and Dani Carvajal.
In his absence, Carlo Ancelotti is expected to rely on Moroccan Brahim Diaz on the right wing, with Vinicius Junior, as usual, on the left wing.
It’s worth noting that Kylian Mbappé’s participation in the match against Celta Vigo is also in doubt due to his not fully recovering from his ankle sprain. However, he is on the squad and, in the worst case scenario, will be on the bench.
