The newspaper “Sport” has revealed Pedri’s status regarding his availability for Barcelona’s Champions League match against Chelsea next Tuesday.
The Spanish star has been sidelined for a month due to injury, and there were high hopes that he would return after the recent international break.
Pedri missed Barcelona’s first home game at Camp Nou against Athletic Bilbao, which ended in a resounding 4-0 victory for the Catalan club.
According to “Sport,” Pedri will also be unavailable for the Chelsea match as his recovery is not yet complete.
While the 23-year-old’s condition is showing significant improvement, Barcelona’s medical staff are unwilling to risk further injury that could lead to another lengthy absence.
If things continue as hoped, Pedri could potentially be available for Barcelona’s next La Liga match against Alavés next Saturday, or, at worst, his return against Atlético Madrid the following Tuesday.
