German coaches have a bright history in the Premier League over the last decade, with Jürgen Klopp undoubtedly the most successful, having had a monumental spell with Liverpool that ended in 2014.

Marco Rose to succeed Iraola at Bournemouth

According to English media reports, Bournemouth have reached a verbal agreement with Marco Rose to take over as manager next season, replacing Spaniard Andoni Iraola.

Iraola will leave the Vitality Stadium after three highly successful years in search of a new challenge, and Bournemouth’s management didn’t hesitate in their search for his successor, opting immediately for Rose, who has a long and distinguished career in German football.

The 49-year-old Rose will sign a two-year contract with the English club, with the official announcement expected in the coming days. This will be his first-ever Premier League managerial role.

The German coach’s most notable experience was with Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg. He also managed Borussia Mönchengladbach and led Borussia Dortmund to the German Cup title. His most recent managerial stint was with RB Leipzig, where he won both the German Cup and the German Super Cup.

Toppmöller close to taking over at Crystal Palace

Dino Toppmöller is close to taking over as manager of Crystal Palace, replacing Oliver Glasner, who announced his departure from the London club last January when his contract expired at the end of the current season.

Palace has not yet finalized its decision regarding Glasner’s successor, but Toppmöller remains the preferred choice among the other names being considered by the English club’s management.

Toppmöller welcomes the move to Crystal Palace and is keen to work in the Premier League. He even turned down the opportunity to manage Wolfsburg next season (should the Wolves remain in the Bundesliga).

The 45-year-old Toppmöller previously served as Julian Nagelsmann’s assistant at RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich. His first head coaching experience was with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2013, where he guided the Eagles to a third-place finish and the club’s best Bundesliga season in decades.

Toppmöller was sacked by Frankfurt last January following a string of poor results after 121 matches in all competitions with the club.

Will Chelsea sack their manager, Rossinior, after a disappointing season?

The History of German Managers in the Premier League

Felix Magath was the first German manager in Premier League history when he took charge of Fulham in 2014. However, his tenure was short-lived and ultimately unsuccessful. Jürgen Klopp arrived in 2015, spearheading Liverpool’s resurgence and leading them to the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Thomas Tuchel is another notable German manager who has worked in the Premier League, having led Chelsea to a Champions League victory. He currently manages the England national team.

Several other prominent German managers have also worked in the competition in recent years, including Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United, Daniel Farke at Norwich City (and currently at Leeds United), David Wagner at Huddersfield Town, and Fabian Hösler, the youngest manager in Premier League history at Brighton & Hove Albion, who also holds American citizenship.
