La Liga has set the date for the next El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona, scheduled to take place at the Camp Nou stadium in the 35th round of La Liga.
All eyes will be on this match, not only because of its status as a global derby, but also because Real Madrid might be obligated to give Barcelona a guard of honor if the Catalan club mathematically secures the La Liga title beforehand.
The highly anticipated match will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, with kickoff at 11:00 PM Mecca time.
Barcelona currently leads La Liga with 79 points, nine points ahead of Real Madrid, with only seven rounds remaining.
If Real Madrid draws or loses any of its remaining matches before El Clásico, Barcelona could potentially clinch the title early. It’s also possible that El Clásico itself could decide the title.
The first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu saw Real Madrid triumph 2-1, before they suffered a 3-2 defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final in Jeddah, a result that led to the dismissal of manager Xabi Alonso.
This second leg Clásico will be Álvaro Arbeloa’s first match in charge of Real Madrid, and it is likely to be his last, given his impending dismissal at the end of the season.
