The Spanish network “Defensa Central” revealed that Mohamed Salah offered himself to Real Madrid for a potential move to the club, even on loan, during the current winter transfer window.
The “Egyptian King” is currently seeking a way out of Liverpool following a series of disagreements with manager Arne Slott and the Anfield management. Salah has repeatedly stated that he will not accept a secondary role at Anfield, regardless of the circumstances.
According to the latest report, Salah’s agent has begun exploring options outside of Liverpool, one of which is Real Madrid. This is particularly relevant given the Spanish club’s current shortage of attacking options after Kylian Mbappé’s injury and subsequent month-long absence from Xabi Alonso’s squad.
Despite Real Madrid’s appreciation for Salah’s abilities, Florentino Pérez’s administration rejected the idea of a loan deal due to his high salary. A loan would cost the Santiago Bernabéu €12 million for just six months, making it an economically burdensome and ultimately pointless transfer.
There is considerable confidence within Real Madrid that Mbappé will recover in time, while Vinicius Junior will rediscover his form, ultimately eliminating the need for another striker for Los Blancos.
It’s worth noting that Roma is also a potential destination for Salah. Italian newspapers have previously reported that the Giallorossi made a move for the 33-year-old in the winter transfer window, but the high cost is once again proving to be a stumbling block.
