Cadena Cope revealed the lineup that coach Xabi Alonso intends to use with Real Madrid next season.
Although the Spanish coach typically used a 3-5-2 formation during his time with Bayer Leverkusen, he intends to use a 4-3-3 formation with Real Madrid.
Alonso’s preference for this formation is due to Real Madrid’s abundance of attacking options, which makes it better to reduce the number of central defenders and increase the attack and midfield with another player.
Surprisingly, Alonso intends to immediately rely on recent signing Franco Mastrantuono in the starting lineup, and plans to completely remove Rodrygo Goes from the picture.
Alonso’s current basic idea is for Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappé to share the lead, giving them freedom to move forward on the flanks.
Real Madrid’s lineup for next season will be as follows, according to Cadena Cope:
Real Madrid’s lineup: 4-2-2-2
Thibaut Courtois
Alvaro Carreras – Dejan Huijsen- Antonio Rudiger (or Eder Militao) – Trent Alexander-Arnold
Aurelien Tchouameni – Fede Valverde
Jude Bellingham – Franco Mastrantuono
Kylian Mbappé – Vinicius Junior
The current question is who will replace Mastrantuono at the Club World Cup, and the most likely choice is Arda Güler, not Rodrygo.
