Real Madrid’s loss does not count… a series of historic undefeats for City (video)

Manchester City succeeded in reaching the FA Cup final after defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the semi-finals at Wembley Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s battalion’s only goal came from Bernardo Silva in the 84th minute, as City continued its campaign to defend its title for the second season in a row.

City will face the winner of Manchester United and Coventry City, and if the Red Devils win, the final will be a repeat of last season’s final, which Silva’s teammates won 2-1.

City’s victory over Chelsea has special value, as it raised the English club’s unbeaten streak to 29 matches in all tournaments.

Many might say that Manchester City was defeated by Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, but the truth is that the loss on penalties does not count.

The match between Real Madrid and City was considered a draw as normal and extra time ended with a score of 1-1, but passage to the semi-finals was decided only on penalties.

Guardiola hopes to maintain the unbeaten streak to secure the double, as he leads the Premier League standings by two points over Liverpool and Arsenal, and now reaches the cup final.
