According to CaughtOffside, Real Madrid have previously made contact with people close to the player to gather information about the possibility of signing him, though this has not yet been followed by an official offer.

The report explained that Arsenal will not consider opening negotiations unless they receive an offer exceeding 100 million euros—a sum that reflects the club’s stance regarding one of the key figures in their tactical setup.

The London club’s position is bolstered by Calafiori’s contract running until June 2029, alongside the player showing no desire to push for an exit, giving the board a strong negotiating stance against any attempts to lure him away.

The Italian defender attracts attention due to his ability to play both center-back and left-back, as well as his movement on the ball and his tendency to step into midfield during possession, traits that provide his manager with flexibility in buildup play.

Calafiori joined Arsenal from Bologna in July 2024 after catching the eye in Serie A and with his national team during Euro 2024, continuing his development in the English Premier League.

The report noted that his estimated market value has risen to around 65 million euros, but Arsenal’s demands clearly surpass this figure because the club values his on-field importance above financial returns.

Consequently, the file remains at the stage of interest and inquiries, while turning it into serious negotiations would require an exceptional offer to change Arsenal’s stance. The source did not mention that Real Madrid have decided to pay the requested sum.
