The newspaper explained that the Spanish midfielder is out of Hansi Flick’s plans for the anticipated fixture, while awaiting further tests that will accurately determine the nature of his injury and his recovery timeframe.

Olmo departed the match against Paris after roughly half an hour, feeling pain following a knock to his left thigh, prompting Fermín López to replace him during the encounter that ended in a 4-2 defeat for Barcelona.

Initial tests indicated a potential injury to the left adductor muscle, with the player set to undergo additional examinations to confirm whether a tear is present and assess the extent of the damage.

Meanwhile, As reported that his absence could range between four and five weeks if a tear is confirmed—an initial estimate that could rule him out of further fixtures beyond El Clásico, though not an officially announced duration by the club.

The injury occurred on the night of his 100th appearance for Barcelona, following a streak of 44 consecutive matches in which he featured for the team, spread across 32 games from last season and 12 matches since the start of the current campaign.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Olmo’s last injury prior to this incident was a dislocated shoulder last December, while his most recent muscular injury dated back to October 2025, bringing an end to a long period of consistent match fitness.

Flick will need to reshuffle his attacking-midfield options before hosting Real Madrid on Sunday, October 25, at the Spotify Camp Nou, in a test arriving immediately after Barcelona’s first defeat of the season.
