Manchester United had reportedly identified the 26-year-old midfielder as their “dream signing” to bolster their central ranks. Speculation regarding a move intensified following a reported rift between Tchouameni and teammate Federico Valverde, an incident many believed might signal the end of the Uruguayan’s journey at the Santiago Bernabéu rather than the Frenchman’s.

With a contract running until 2028 and a staggering €1 billion release clause, Real Madrid are under no pressure to sell.
