El Chiringuito reported that Real Madrid’s management is seeking to sign a new striker with experience in La Liga, and it appears they have already settled on his identity.
The club’s management remains highly impressed with Joselu’s model. When he moved to the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer of 2023, he accepted his role as a substitute striker and succeeded in making a difference on more than one occasion.
Florentino Pérez’s management believes that signing an experienced striker who can influence both on and off the field is a necessity, provided he accepts the role of substitute, a requirement also requested by coach Xabi Alonso.
El Chiringuito’s latest report indicated that Real Madrid is interested in signing Ante Budimir, the Osasuna striker, as he is the most suitable, in all respects, to play Joselu’s role in the Spanish capital.
Budimir’s contract with Osasuna runs until the summer of 2027, with a €20 million release clause. The 33-year-old player welcomes a move to Real Madrid and would not mind sitting on the bench.
Osasuna does not intend to negotiate the release clause, but Real Madrid has its own strategy in this deal, as it wants to tempt the Spanish club with the option to sign one of its young players in exchange for a lower transfer fee.
It’s worth noting that Budimir is the third-highest scorer in La Liga this season, having scored 21 goals and provided four assists in 37 appearances. He has a total of 78 goals in La Liga with the various clubs he has represented.
