Real Madrid’s management has sent a clear warning to Jude Bellingham due to his poor performance this season, urging him to work harder, otherwise he will be doomed to the bench next season.
The England international joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2023 for €100 million from Borussia Dortmund, and during his first season, he performed exceptionally well, finishing third in the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
However, this season, like all Real Madrid players, Bellingham has suffered a noticeable decline, both in numbers and performance, which has raised concerns within the management about his future.
According to Marca, Carlo Ancelotti first contacted Bellingham and asked him about the reason for his decline in performance and whether anything off the pitch had affected him.
Later, Real Madrid’s management contacted the 22-year-old directly, reiterating their confidence in him but also clearly warning him against continuing the same behavior next season.
One of the things that most upset Real Madrid officials was Bellingham’s failure to take the next step as a leader within the team, despite his exemplary start. He also frequently lost his temper in front of referees, leading to his expulsion and suspension.
Ultimately, Real Madrid officials were very clear with the player: he must regain his form and make an impact on the team, especially given the large sum paid for him. Therefore, they would not tolerate any further decline next season.
For his part, the player is convinced of the need to return to his former form and is aware of the message he received from the management: if he does not improve, his fate will be the substitutes, especially since new coach Xabi Alonso has full authority to do whatever he wants to bring Los Blancos back to trophies.
