Real Madrid has set an exorbitant price for Gonzalo Garcia in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Spanish media outlets have indicated that Garcia is no longer part of the club’s plans for next season, and the decision has been made to sell him while retaining a buy-back clause, as is customary.
It was expected that Florentino Perez’s administration would facilitate the sale, hoping to make a quick profit from the 22-year-old, but the newspaper AS revealed that the opposite has occurred.
Garcia has attracted interest from an unnamed Italian club, and Real Madrid has responded by demanding at least €60 million for the player, whose contract runs until the summer of 2030.
This price may be considered excessive, given that Garcia only truly shone at the 2025 Club World Cup and has not featured regularly this season.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing the Spanish striker, given the expected departure of Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy. However, the German club is only offering Real Madrid a maximum of €30 million to complete the deal.
Real Madrid are expected to be more flexible in negotiations, and the final transfer fee is expected to be less than €60 million, amidst significant interest from Serie A, Bundesliga, and even some Premier League clubs.
