The record arrived during the Rossoneri’s away victory against Udinese, in a match where the Croatian midfielder directly contributed to the opening goal, granting his side an early advantage.

According to Opta statistics, Modrić reached four Serie A assists after celebrating his 40th birthday, moving ahead of Ibrahimović, who registered three assists in the same age category.

This benchmark specifically accounts for the era following Serie A’s return to a 20-team format starting from the 2004–2005 season, measuring assists provided after turning 40.

Modrić set up Christian Pulisic’s opener in the sixth minute against Udinese, before Omari Hutchinson added the second in the 65th minute to seal a 2-0 victory for Milan in the eighth round.

The 41-year-old Croatian star has featured in all eight of Milan’s league fixtures this season—logging a total of 521 minutes and providing two assists—after ending the previous campaign with two goals and three assists across 34 appearances in the competition.

Modrić joined Milan in July 2025 from Real Madrid and launched his Serie A campaign shortly before turning 40, bringing his overall tally in the competition to five assists in 42 matches, four of which have come past the milestone age.

The victory delivered Milan’s second consecutive league win, elevating their tally to 18 points from five victories and three draws ahead of hosting Bologna on Wednesday, October 28, as Modrić continues to deliver key creative contributions.
