Liverpool’s management has begun working on the post-Mohamed Salah era, and initially, they are considering two Bundesliga players to succeed the “Egyptian King.”
Salah announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the current season, and the English club decided to allow him to terminate his contract, which runs until the summer of 2027, and leave for free.
According to reports from British newspapers, Bayern Munich star Michael Ulisehe is currently the Reds’ top target to replace Salah.
The obstacle to signing Ulisehe is that his contract with Bayern Munich still has a long way to go, and the Bavarian club is unlikely to let him leave, regardless of the financial incentives.
This brings the second option forward: RB Leipzig’s Yann Diomande, who is considered one of the most promising players in football this season.
RB Leipzig have already set a €100 million price tag for the Ivorian international this summer after his impressive performances in the Bundesliga, where he has contributed to over 20 goals so far.
In any case, Liverpool officials are aware of their need to sell at least one player to finance either the Oliseh or Diomande deals, and it is highly likely that Cody Gakpo will be the one sacrificed in the upcoming transfer window.
