Lewandowski opens the scoring at the “new Camp Nou”

Robert Lewandowski needed just three minutes to open the scoring for Barcelona at the new Camp Nou, during their match against Athletic Bilbao.

The Bilbao match was Barcelona’s first at the Camp Nou after two and a half years of renovations to the historic Blaugrana stronghold.

Everyone was eagerly anticipating who would score the first goal at the new Camp Nou, especially after Lamine Yamal’s return and the inclusion of several other stars in Hansi Flick’s squad.

Ultimately, that honor fell to Lewandowski, and in spectacular fashion.

The Polish international received the ball on the edge of the penalty area, dribbled past a Bilbao defender, and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot that Unai Simón couldn’t stop.
