Famous journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Toni Kroos has reached an agreement with Real Madrid to renew his contract for another year.
The German international’s contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expired at the end of the current season, and the player expressed more than once his intention to retire, as he had always planned, at the age of thirty-three.
But in light of the amazing levels presented by Kroos, Real Madrid tried with all its might to keep him, and the player also responded to calls to reverse his international retirement and return to the German national team again.
According to Romano, Kroos also made the decision to continue with Real Madrid next season, and to postpone the decision to retire for another year.
Indeed, discussions took place between the player and Florentino Pérez’s management in a positive manner, and all the details were agreed upon. All that is missing is the player signing the contracts to formalize the renewal.
It is noteworthy that Kroos participated this season with Real Madrid in 38 matches in all tournaments, during which he scored a goal and assisted 7 others.
The German joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2014 from Bayern Munich, and since then he has achieved many achievements, most notably winning the Champions League 4 times.
