Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge mocked Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.
Yamal played the full 90 minutes in the Blues’ heavy 3-0 defeat to Barça in the Champions League.
Brazilian Estevão was the Blues’ star player, scoring one of the season’s best goals with a powerful right-footed shot that nestled into the top corner of goalkeeper Juan García’s net.
After Liam Delap scored the third goal against Barcelona, Chelsea fans began chanting against Lamine Yamal.
Chelsea fans chanted, “Yamal, you’re a poor imitation of Estevão,” referring to the Brazilian’s brilliance and the 18-year-old’s near-complete absence from the game, especially in the second half.
Such chants are not uncommon in English stadiums, especially since Yamal had threatened Chelsea before the match via his Instagram account.
This defeat is Barcelona’s second in the Champions League, after losing to Paris Saint-Germain, as well as drawing with Club Brugge in the previous round.
