Cancelo pushes Inter to pursue a swap deal with Al-Hilal

Inter Milan are determined to sign João Cancelo during the winter transfer window, regardless of the cost, to the point that the Italian club’s management is prepared to offer a swap deal with Al-Hilal if necessary.

Coach Simone Inzaghi excluded Cancelo from Al-Hilal’s domestic squad after he spent the first half of the season injured and was completely out of the Italian’s plans for the upcoming period.

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inter have offered Al-Hilal Cancelo in exchange for either Francesco Acerbi or Stefan de Vrij, or one of them, moving to the Saudi club.

Al-Hilal remain open to selling, loaning, or even swapping Cancelo. The Saudi club’s current objective is to offload him to reduce expenses, but the Portuguese player himself has not yet made a final decision regarding his next move.

Some Italian media outlets are reporting that Al-Hilal has already agreed to loan Cancelo to Inter until the end of the season, while the 31-year-old remains undecided about which club to join in the current winter transfer window.

Cancelo had attracted interest from Barcelona in recent days, who were looking to add him to their squad as a replacement for the injured Andreas Christensen. It has also been reported that Juventus made a move for the flying full-back, leaving the player uncertain about his future.
