Barcelona were crowned Spanish Super Cup champions after defeating Real Madrid 3-2 in the final at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (The Shining Jewel).
The Catalan club took the lead through Rafinha in the first half, before Vinicius Junior equalized in the 45th minute. Just seconds later, Robert Lewandowski put Barcelona ahead.
In the final seconds of the first half, Gonzalo Garcia leveled the score for Real Madrid, ending the first half 2-2.
In the second half, Barcelona dominated the match, and in the 73rd minute, Rafinha scored Barcelona’s third goal with a powerful shot that deflected off Raúl Asensio and past Thibaut Courtois.
This is the second consecutive year that Barcelona have won the Super Cup in Jeddah against Real Madrid, following their 5-2 victory in last year’s final.
Overall, this is Barcelona’s fourth victory over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final, compared to seven previous wins for Los Blancos.
This triumph marks Barcelona’s 16th Spanish Super Cup title overall.
