After Wirtz, Liverpool is once again poised to make the biggest deal in Premier League history!

Many thought Florian Wirtz would remain the most expensive signing in Premier League history for a while, after Liverpool paid a total of €150 million for him. However, the Reds are planning to break that record and conclude another huge deal this summer.

The Athletic reported that Liverpool has tested Newcastle’s waters for Alexander Isak, noting that the Magpies have no intention of letting go of the Swedish striker yet.

According to the report, Liverpool is willing to pay more than £120 million to persuade Newcastle to let go of Isak, whose contract with the club still runs until the summer of 2028.

Although Newcastle rejects the idea of letting go of Isak, a financial offer of this magnitude, along with significant variables, could change the club’s vision, especially since replacing the 25-year-old would not be impossible.

Newcastle United appear to be working on bringing in a top striker. Reports from Germany indicate negotiations between the club and Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Hugo Ekitike. The English club submitted an initial offer of €80 million, but it was rejected.

Liverpool hopes that the coming days will witness a degree of flexibility in the negotiations by the Newcastle management. Personal terms between the Reds and Isak are not expected to be a crisis, especially since the player is keen to move to a bigger club to achieve more success.

Isak joined Newcastle in the summer of 2022 from Real Sociedad for €70 million and has since made 101 appearances for the St. James’ Park team, scoring 62 goals and providing 11 assists.
