A rare occurrence: Ronaldo misses a penalty for Al-Nassr against Al-Fayha

The Al-Nassr vs. Al-Fayha match witnessed a rare occurrence, as Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty kick in the 25th round of the Saudi Professional League.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo has taken 217 penalties, whether for the Portuguese national team or the various clubs he has represented (Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Al-Nassr).

In the tenth minute of the Al-Fayha match, Al-Nassr was awarded a penalty, and Ronaldo stepped up to take it, but he shot wide, a departure from the Portuguese legend’s usual form.

This was Ronaldo’s 36th missed penalty overall, and his fourth with Al-Nassr, having previously missed against Al-Taawoun, Al-Khaleej, and Al-Fateh.

Fortunately for Ronaldo, Al-Nassr won 3-1 thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Abdullah Al-Hamdan, and an own goal by Oscar Mosquera.

Al-Nassr leads the Saudi Professional League standings with 61 points, two points ahead of second-placed Al-Ahli and three points ahead of third-placed Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo is currently third in the Saudi League top scorers list with 21 goals, two goals behind the current leader, England’s Ivan Toni.
