Cesc Fàbregas Open to Coaching Real Madrid: “I Have No Red Lines”

Cesc Fàbregas, the current head coach of Como, has surprised the football world by expressing his openness to coaching Real Madrid in the future. Despite being a graduate of Barcelona’s La Masia and a former star for the Catalan giants, the Spaniard refused to rule out a move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Fàbregas has emerged as one of the most promising young managers in Europe. His stock rose significantly after leading Como to a historic milestone: qualifying for European competitions for the first time in the club’s history.

The “No Red Lines” Policy

With Real Madrid currently navigating a difficult period and searching for leadership, Fàbregas was asked about the possibility of taking the helm at the Bernabéu. His response was candid:

  • The Madrid Option: “Coaching Real Madrid? I haven’t set any boundaries; I haven’t studied that possibility yet, but I am open to everything.”

  • The Main Condition: “I don’t have a red line. The only thing I know for sure is that I don’t want to be an assistant coach—I want to be the head coach.”

Commitment to Como

Fàbregas explained that he chose Como because he saw it as the perfect opportunity to transition into his true passion: management. While he reportedly rejected an offer from Inter Milan last summer and is currently linked with a lucrative return to the Premier League with Chelsea, it is highly likely he will remain with the Italian side for at least one more season.
