Many questions have been raised regarding the schedule of the remaining Egyptian League matches this season following the Egyptian government’s decision to implement Daylight Saving Time starting Friday, April 24th.
All matches this season have been played at two different times: 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Due to the limited number of VAR vans available, no more than four matches can be played on a single day.
With the clocks moving forward, some speculated that matches might be played at 6:00 PM instead of 5:00 PM, especially with the rising temperatures.
However, according to Egyptian media reports, the Egyptian League matches will continue to be played at their original times until the end of the season: 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
This decision seems logical, considering the government’s plan to close shops at 11:00 PM as part of electricity conservation measures. Playing matches at 9:00 PM would conflict with this policy.
It is worth noting that Zamalek leads the Egyptian League standings with 46 points, while Pyramids comes in second place with 44 points, which is the same number of points as Al-Ahly, who are in third place, with one more match for the Red Castle than the other two competing for the title.
