Surprise: An Arab Country May Host the Finalissima Cup

The Spanish newspaper AS reported that Morocco may host the Finalissima Cup match between Argentina and Spain instead of Qatar.

Qatar suspended all sporting activities following the Iranian response to the US-Israeli war, and the date for the resumption of football in the country remains unknown.

Currently, all parties involved are considering the available options, including moving the match to another country.

In recent hours, Morocco has emerged as an ideal option to host this highly anticipated event, specifically the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

After renovations, the stadium now has a capacity of 70,000 spectators, and Morocco has proven its ability to host major events on several occasions.

However, there are challenges that hinder this, most notably that Spain has a match scheduled three days later against Egypt, in addition to the complex legal procedures between the relevant federations.

Besides Morocco, the option of holding the match at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Spain or the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal, is also being considered. A final solution is to move the match to MetLife Stadium in New York, but European clubs will oppose this due to the long distance and the expected fatigue of the players.

If all these solutions fail, the match will likely be postponed until May. There remains a glimmer of hope that Qatar will succeed in resuming activities, thus resolving the crisis completely.
