Tottenham set to sack Thomas Frank due to poor results

Tottenham’s board has decided to sack manager Thomas Frank immediately following last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to West Ham in the Premier League.

Frank took over at Spurs at the start of this season after a successful and impressive spell with Brentford, but he has failed to make any significant impact at Tottenham over the past six months.

Tottenham have failed to win their first five matches this season, suffering four defeats and one draw, and have won only three of their last 12 games.

There had already been discussions within the London club’s board about sacking Frank after the loss to Aston Villa and early exit from the FA Cup, but opinions were clearly divided, leading to the decision to back the Danish manager.

After the defeat to West Ham, Tottenham fans chanted against the manager in the stadium, and the division within the board began to disappear, making Frank’s dismissal almost certain. The only remaining point of contention is when it will be implemented. It currently seems likely that Thomas Frank will be informed of his departure even before the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund next Tuesday.

However, there are faint voices calling for the manager to remain until after the Dortmund game and be given another chance if he manages to defeat the Black and Yellows and thus secure qualification for the Champions League round of 16.

It’s worth noting that Tottenham currently sits in 14th place in the English Premier League with 27 points from their first 22 matches, while in European competition they are in 11th place, just one point behind 8th-placed Atlético Madrid.
