Italian media reports indicate that Omar Marmoush is considering leaving Manchester City in the upcoming winter transfer window in order to secure more playing time.
Despite City signing the Egyptian international for €80 million in January 2025, Pep Guardiola has not given him many opportunities to play, especially this season.
According to the reports, Marmoush is considering a loan move away from City in January to a club where he can guarantee regular playing time until the end of the season.
Marmoush still dreams of securing a starting position at Manchester City, but he understands that remaining on the bench will not guarantee him that. The best solution for him is to go out on loan and then return to fight for his place next season.
Roma appears to be one of the most likely destinations for the 24-year-old, as coach Gian Piero Gasperini holds Marmoush in high regard and hopes to bring him in to bolster the Giallorossi’s attacking options.
Roma’s interest in signing Marmoush is not new; it was discussed last January and again last summer as a potential replacement for Paulo Dybala. However, Marmoush ultimately chose to stay with City.
A move to Roma could be the perfect opportunity for Salah right now, given that Gasperini’s team is leading Serie A and has been performing at a remarkable level this season.
It’s worth noting that Marmoush has made 13 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, mostly as a substitute, totaling 424 minutes. During that time, he scored one goal and provided one assist.
