Press reports indicated that Juan Bezera is fighting to obtain medical clearance to participate in the Al Ahly and Zamalek match in the 2025 Egyptian Super Cup final.
The Brazilian player suffered a hamstring strain during the Tala’ea El Gaish match last week, which resulted in him missing the Pyramids match. Hopes were high for him to make it to the Al Ahly match.
Bezera underwent a medical test in the past few hours but failed it, and consequently missed Zamalek’s final training session before the Derby, confirming his absence from the highly anticipated summit clash at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium.
However, according to the “Btolat” website, Bezera has not given up and is insistent on participating against Al Ahly despite the injury.
Under pressure from the player, the Zamalek medical staff decided to subject Bezera to one final medical test less than 4 hours before the Egyptian Super Cup final kicks off.
Ultimately, Bezera might take painkillers and play the Derby, but this involves a significant risk, as his participation could aggravate the injury, leading to a prolonged absence from the fields.
It is worth noting that coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf refused to definitively rule out Bezera’s participation in the Al Ahly match, leaving the door open, which further reinforces the credibility that the player might push himself to play in Sunday’s match.
