Juan Bezerra will miss the Egyptian Super Cup final against Al Ahly due to his incomplete recovery from injury.
Bezerra suffered a hamstring strain during Zamalek’s Egyptian Premier League match against Tala’ea El Gaish, which forced him to miss the Super Cup semi-final against Pyramids FC, a match Zamalek won on penalties.
Bezerra traveled with the Zamalek squad to the UAE, hoping to recover in time for the final.
According to Egyptian press reports, the Brazilian star will not be able to participate in the Al Ahly match. The medical staff is concerned that he might push himself further, potentially aggravating the injury and leading to a lengthy absence.
Despite suggestions that the player take painkillers and his insistence on playing, the final decision came from Zamalek’s doctor, who ruled out his participation to prevent a muscle strain from developing into a tear that would sideline him for two to four months.
Thus, coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf will have to find a new solution for the right wing position, although it is most likely that he will include Oday Dabbagh as was the case in the Pyramids match, after the Palestinian star’s recovery from his muscle injury was confirmed.
