A major predicament: Zamalek faces a hefty sum to sack Ferrera!

Zamalek’s management finds itself in a major predicament, as it must pay a very large sum to coach Yannick Ferrera as compensation for his dismissal, according to the contract signed between the two parties last July.

The Belgian coach was informed of his dismissal from Zamalek by a decision of the board of directors and ratified by sporting director John Edward. However, the matter has not been officially finalized between the two parties due to Ferreira’s demand for the value of the penalty clause.

Egyptian media revealed that Zamalek needs to pay the remaining value of Ferrera’s contract (until the end of the season), amounting to $300,000, to terminate the contractual relationship with the coach. This seems unlikely to be within the club’s current financial means due to the severe financial crisis.

A meeting is expected in the coming hours between Ferrera and Zamalek’s management to negotiate the penalty clause in his contract. It is anticipated that the coach will insist on the full amount, or even if he agrees to a reduction, it will not be as substantial as the officials hope.

Zamalek has begun searching for a new coach, and it is said that Algerian coach Noureddine Zekri is the candidate who is acceptable to everyone within the White Castle, but there is no agreement between the two parties so far.
