Sport reported that an Inter star has already offered his services to Barcelona to join the Catalan club this summer, with his club welcoming the deal.
The subject here is center-back Benjamin Pavard, who has a close relationship with coach Hansi Flick since their time together at Bayern Munich.
The latest report indicated that Pini Zahavi, Pavard’s agent and a close friend of Barcelona’s management, proposed the idea of signing Pavard to bolster the center-back team during a meeting with president Joan Laporta.
One of Pavard’s strengths is that he can also play at right-back, which would provide Barcelona with a permanent replacement for Jules Kounde, rather than relying on Hector Fort or any other young option.
According to Sport, Barcelona has neither expressed approval nor opposition to the idea, and it is likely the club will not complete the deal due to Financial Fair Play regulations.
The club was forced to offer personal guarantees to successfully sign Marcus Rashford. There is currently no chance of paying for a new player and attempting to sign him, given that this would require an economic miracle.
Pavard wants to leave Inter, but he wants to continue in Europe and has rejected lucrative offers from the Saudi league. The Nerazzurri would be happy to part with their defender for a modest fee, but this does not suit Barcelona at the moment.
It is worth noting that Laporta’s administration is currently working on signing Szczesny after renewing his contract, as well as new signing Ronnie Bardez and returning player Marc Bernal, but the task appears extremely difficult and may require selling at least one player first.
