The White Knights’ captain was forced to leave Monday’s match against Enppi in the first half after suffering a severe muscle injury.

The 33-year-old underwent the necessary medical examinations, which confirmed a hamstring tear, an injury that typically requires one to two months of recovery before returning to the pitch.

This confirms Gaber’s absence from the upcoming match against Al Ahly on Friday, and it is practically impossible for him to participate in any Zamalek matches before the end of the current season, which concludes on May 20th.

Undoubtedly, the captain’s absence will be a significant blow to Moataz Gamal’s squad, especially considering that his only replacement is the young Mohamed Ibrahim, and the difference in experience and quality between the two remains considerable.

Zamalek leads the Egyptian league standings by 3 points over their closest pursuers, Pyramids, with only 3 rounds remaining in the competition. They will also play in the Confederation Cup final against Algeria’s USM Alger.
